Little Caesars, Over Here!

I'm destined to be a Little Caesar's cashier -- just look at that face.

...A cashier in a commercial would be the BEST case scenario ;)

Fancy A Smush?

This hoochie got some potentially glorious news today.
Can't tell you what it is, but I do hope you'll enjoy the character photo below in its absence.
Lastly, I have an audish tomorrow for a commercial. Looking forward to it. The part of a young mother, rescued by a cop after being abducted by a bad guy. Hope the cop is hot. And single...

Commercial Goodness

Hola, everyone! Here's an audition video I recently submitted for a spokesperson type commercial. Shout out to Todd and Bill at ACS. Making this video had me all nostalgic about the good times in their commercial workshop this summer!

I'm Coming After You!

Hello, long lost friends, hello!

Goodness gracious, it has been a month since I've blogged! Waaaaaaaay too long and I hope all three of you didn't feel abandoned while I was away.  At any rate, I am back from Humboldt County.  No, I didn't sample any of the local greens.  That's the first question everyone asks.  It was cloudy and chilly up there. That's the second question people ask.  I'm defs missing the weather up there, especially during this gnarly heat wave! I skipped the sauna today, since you know, LA is one at the moment!

Through the heat, I created my very own LA Casting account today! Woo hoo! It cost me about 80 bucks for a six month membership.  It's not cheap, but I get to keep my arm and my leg, so it's all good.  That may have been a bad joke.  My bad.  Also, today, I began reading Kathy Griffin's memoir.  Compelling stuff.  One of her brothers was a child molester and she dated Jack Black for a bit.  I'm about a hundred pages through and I gotta tell ya-- I've decided that stand up comedy or writing for a comedian is defs on my bucket list.  I wrote out my first act just now and there were a few dirty jokes.  As long as my mother is alive, I can never tell a dirty joke on stage, as myself.  She has a smart phone.  I'd be found out in no time.  But, maybe writing for someone who's mother is no longer with us (rest her soul) or writing for someone who's mother is also a dirty joke teller... I'll figure something out.

Oh, also, haircut in the VERY near future! I'm 99% sure I'm gonna get the bangs back.  They're fun.  Oh yeah.  But, I do love that head shot without the bangs.  Hmmm... Ugh, so lame that my hairstyle is a major decision.  My life is so hard.  Smack me anytime.

Agent update: had two very fantastic/generous referrals from two very fantastic/generous people to what I hope are two very fantastic/generous agencies! Hopefully, I'll be getting contacted soon. If not, watch out ___________ and ______________, I'm coming after you! In a nice, non-stalker kind of way, of course :)

Alright, that's it, I gotta catch some Z's.  Gotta drag my booty to the gym tomorrow before work.  Woot!

Shiny Happy Person (who also walks like a duck)

Ello!

It's been a few weeks since I wrote last, time flies by! To start, everyone should know that I've been jumping rope for a whole two days now and my calves are so sore. No joke. So, if you see a crazy white girl on Sunset Boulevard, walking around like an old duck, say hello, because that's me!

I can't believe that today is the last portion of the commercial workshop I'm in at the Actor's Comedy Studio. Total bummer. Last week we did "Shiny Happy People," which covers commercials that feature characters that people want to be like. For example, we'd all like to drive a Mercedes, right? People in the Benz commercials would be considered "shiny happy people." I did alright. My favorite exercise was a bank commercial, where I got to play a homeowner who is in the middle of paining and stops to share how low her mortgage is thanks to the wonderful bank. The wonderful bank-- ha! That's why it's called acting. At any rate, I'm a seasoned pro at painting, because not only did I work in the paint department at Lowe's one summer, but I also painted just about every room in my parent's house. Been training hard for that commercial exercise and I didn't even know it. Lol.

Next week, I'm headed out of town for a bit of a vacation. All of you agents and big time movie producers can reach me on my cell ;)

Face Masking + Blogging = Multi-tasking!

Greetings, ya'll!

I'm chillin' on the couch waiting for my face mask to do it's thing. Last night was my first class at The Actor's Comedy Studio. We practiced "slating" and ran through a mock audition for beer commercials and a wireless commercial. It felt great to be in front of the camera again, although the first time watching film of yourself after a while is always a little strange. The two coaches gave excellent pointers and notes on what we did. One positive thing they said that I did during my slate was that my eyes "twinkled." The funny thing is that when I saw my eyes do that, before I got the positive comment on it, I thought, "Note to self: stop doing that weird thing with your eyes!" Lol. As it usually turns out, what we think is strange or unattractive about ourselves is often what someone else finds to be extraordinary or eye-catching. During the "wireless commercial" audish, I got the note to just relax, because my "actor switch" was turned on. He said to just relax and talk like a normal person. No! Not the actor switch! Lol. Yes, I'm totally guilty. Something I'm definitely looking forward to working on :)

So, this weekend I put together some mailings for a few agencies around town. I need to mail them asap! I'm definitely excited about going out and finding some representation. I found out today that a new tv drama is being created called The Luxe. It's a period piece, set at the turn of the century, and a few of the characters are my type! Just saying ;)

Alright, I'm gonna go wash this business off my face. The face mask, not Hollywood, of course.

TGIF!

Howdy!

Happy Friday, ya'll! I'm starving, but first I must blog :)

So... Vegas was uh-mazing! A lot of floating around in the pool and drinking beer on the streets. Our finest moment must have been when we realized that the buckets our beers were served in could also double at hats! Then, the kids at the pool started wearing the buckets as hats, too! Innocent, but hilarious. The trip ended with a much needed trip to PHO Saigon 8 in Las Vegas' China Town. This was pho sho' the best decision we made all weekend.

I registered for an acting class yesterday at the Actor's Comedy Studio. We start the commercial acting class on July 12th, and I'm really excited! It's been two years since I've been in a commercial acting class-- so, it's time to brush up on these skills. Working in commercials will be so fun! I need to print a new commercial head shot out, but I can't decide which one! Also, I've never had to think so much about my hair cut before now. Bangs, or no bangs, that is the question... Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of .... oh never mind. Lol.

Okie, off to make some delicious lunch before work! I'm thinking stir fry :)

Staged Reading and Class Search!

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. I thought I'd pop by and write a little note before I head to work. On Saturday in Pasadena's Little Theatre, my class mates and I had a staged reading of our 10 minute plays and it went very well. Our instructor, Norman Knight, hosted it and invited Mike Rademaekers from The Secret Rose Theatre in North Hollywood. Mike gave us all great advice and very constructive criticism. The most valuable thing he said to me was that the set up leading to the action needs to be short! It's only a 10-minute play, people need to be sucked in right away. I plan to submit my work to The Secret Rose in September, and one day see it produced! How awesome is that going to be? :)

I'm currently checking out new acting classes, as I have just finished up a voice and movement class. It's so important to stay active and stay fresh. I'm considering a commercial acting class, but who knows! I'll keep ya, posted.

Have a great weekend! I'll be in Las Vegas. Be jealous, be very jealous. Mwahaha!
